Health Screening

Health screening is a useful way to assess one’s health and either obtain the reassurance that you need or identify health issues.

All screening tests have limitations and here at Edinburgh GP we firmly believe that the best experience for our clients comes from the personalised interpretation of the results with our doctors. Blood results on their own with no context or consideration of the patients’ unique circumstances are of limited value.

Most of our patients are thankfully in good health. Our doctors all share a passion for health promotion and performance coaching. As such our core health screening package has up to 90 minutes of face to face Doctor time and some of this time can be spent on lifestyle coaching if needed.

From our combined years of experience, we have learned the value of continuity of care, relationship building and result trends gained over consecutive screens. A health screen is a great way to start our relationship together at our clinic as it gives us a thorough picture of you and your health at that moment in time. This means we are better able to provide care for you if you return at a later date for GP consultations.

Our unique modular approach

We are all different so why should all health screens be the same? At Edinburgh GP we take a unique modular approach to our health screening, tailoring it to each clients’ needs.

Our core screen is just that. A sensible thorough range of tests and examinations. Rather than “scatter gun” test our clients which can raise false positive results and cause more harm than good we prefer to meet you first in a preliminary appointment to take blood tests and decide if any of our add on modules will be useful for you . Our more common add on modules and tests are listed below. All screening tests should be carefully considered and the results unpacked with one of our experienced doctors. We should own the results in the private sector but rest asssured if going back to the NHS is your wish and the most appropriate place for your care we help facilitate this for you .
