Minor Surgery

Many of us have minor skin conditions which we would like treated, such as cysts, moles or skin tags. Dr David Richardson has been carrying out minor surgery procedures for more than 10 years both for the NHS and private practice. Dr Richardson also holds a specialist Diploma in Dermatology and provides expert advice on your options for treating skin conditions.

In many instances, these can be removed through minor procedures like cryotherapy (freezing) or surgical removal under an effective local anaesthetic.

What to expect:

  • Many of our minor surgery patients already know one of our Doctors and will have discussed the suitability of minor skin procedures with them. In which case we can make you a minor surgery appointment with our surgical Doctor without the need for a dedicated pre-assessment.
  • If you have not yet met with any of our Doctors please call us to make a short, dedicated 15 minute pre assessment appointment during which one of our Doctors will conduct an assessment of the suitability of our minor surgery procedures for you.
  • The cost of this pre assessment will be £100 and if you agree to have treatment, this will be deducted from the cost of your minor surgery procedure.
  • In most cases your procedure will take between 30 to 60 minutes and you can leave immediately. We do have a private space you can relax in if you feel you want to take some time to relax after your treatment.
  • Your treatment cost includes after care, where needed, such as wound checks and/or suture removal.

The costs of the procedure varies depending on the complexity and if a laboratory histology test is required. As a guide, cryotherapy (freezing treatment) would be expected to cost between £200 – £300.

Minor Surgery procedures start at £300 for simple lesions not requiring stitches or histology. Full thickness procedures requiring stitches and histology start from £550.
