Dr Becky Cheesbrough

Becky qualified from Cardiff University in 2002. She initially undertook surgical training, becoming a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2006, and worked in both the UK and Australia. After moving to Edinburgh in 2008, she undertook GP training and has since worked in Primary Care across Lothian, including for the NHS Lothian Out of Hours Service.

Alongside her GP work, Becky has consistently maintained and developed her surgical skills. She has delivered minor surgery clinics in Leith since 2012, carried out procedures within GP practice and for several years performed a surgical list within the Tumour Clinic at the NHS Lothian Dermatology Department. She has performed many thousands of minor surgical procedures and nearly 1000 vasectomies as part of the Lothian Sexual Health service. She has completed the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare’s Special Skills Training in Vasectomy.

Her portfolio career also includes work developing safe and efficient patient pathways, and she currently holds a national role with the Centre for Sustainable Delivery as a Primary Care Lead.
