Jamie graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2010 and completed his foundation years in Glasgow, rotating through several medical and surgical specialties. Following this he spent several years in Australia working in Emergency and Rural Medicine. It was there he discovered his desire to be a medical generalist.

He returned to Edinburgh in 2015 and completed his GP training following which he went on to work as an NHS GP and Specialty doctor in Accident & Emergency.  Over the last few years, he has become more focused on building relationships within primary care and health promotion. He enjoys working with patients to achieve a shared treatment plan that suits their lifestyle and individual needs.

Having been a keen rugby player, Jamie remains passionate about the health benefits of sport and exercise. Jamie has completed several post graduate qualifications in Sports Medicine. He has worked with elite athletes across several sports including football, gymnastics and golf. With a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of concussion, he works regularly with Scottish Rugby. He has worked as team doctor for the Scotland U18, U20 and Women’s National team and provides match day cover at Edinburgh Rugby and Scotland international games.

Jamie lives in East Lothian and enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, keeping fit and escaping to the golf course when time allows!
